I graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. After a year of working as a Nurse, I decided to take a leap of faith and go back to school. This decision moved me to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I attended Marquette University, receiving a Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery. Shortly thereafter I passed the American Midwifery Certification Board examination to qualify as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Initially, I worked in St. Louis, MO as a nurse on a medical oncology floor. There I was able to work closely with patients and their families, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, my passion for labor and birth led me to leave St. Louis and begin school at Marquette University. Throughout my studies at Marquette, I enjoyed researching natural labor and hydrotherapy, as well as the benefits of essential oils and aromatherapy. While attending midwifery school at Marquette I worked as a nurse on a busy labor and delivery unit at Aurora West Allis Hospital just outside of Milwaukee.
My husband Josh and I met in college at Valparaiso University and were married in 2013. In early 2015, I joined the Fertility and Midwifery Care Center and with great joy, my husband and I celebrated the arrival of our first child, Theo in September 2016. We welcomed our second child, Charlotte, in October 2018 and our third child, Madilyn, in November of 2020.
My favorite part of my work is building lasting relationships with patients and providing each woman with unique and individualized care. I am a strong advocate for each patient and I love helping her and her family through their unique labor experience. It is a privilege to be a part of such an awesome and special experience, and I look forward to helping families through this exciting time. I love the team at Fertility and Midwifery Care Center and providing exceptional, individualized care for women and their families throughout the continuum of their lives.
