I am originally from Michigan – the upper peninsula – which makes me a ‘yooper’ to those familiar with the term. Following undergraduate work at Northern Michigan University, I was accepted to Michigan State University for my medical training, followed by residency in obstetrics and gynecology in Grand Rapids.
After six years in practice, I discovered Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology, an approach to women’s healthcare that cooperates fully with a woman’s body. This approach looks for the underlying cause of disease and dysfunction that our patients might be experiencing.
The more I utilized this approach, the more I wanted to learn to be able to better help the women and couples entrusted to my care. This led our family to Omaha, Nebraska in 2021 to complete the St. John Paul II Medical and Surgical Fellowship jointly offered by Creighton University School of Medicine and the St. Paul VI Institute. Thanks to my family’s great sacrifice, I was able to learn complex surgical techniques necessary to help women get to the root cause of their issues and to heal.
My husband and I have been blessed along the way with six beautiful children. In addition to supporting my children in all their various activities, I enjoy running, skiing, biking, travel, and reading. My current marathon tally is at 17, with a plan to run all six marathon ‘majors’ – Chicago, Boston, and New York are checked off already!
