The Holy Family Birth Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking individuals with a love of natural birth to provide hands-on assistance to the midwives and nurses during the last stages of labor, birth, and the early postpartum period.
The role is to provide any needed support for the midwife and nurse including, but not limited to:
-Be available for one or more 12-hour call shifts per month (ex. 7AM-7PM on Wednesdays)
-Arriving prior to the birth and remain about 2 hours
postpartum
-Assisting the midwife/nurse with obtaining supplies, cleaning, stocking, retrieving equipment etc.
-Actively ready and able to assist midwife/nurse in an emergency
-Assisting the patient/family with basic postpartum needs
-Cleaning of/turning over the room immediately postpartum
-Various other duties related to the birth/postpartum period
The ability to assist our staff and put patients and families at ease, while working quickly and calmly in a fast-paced environment, are skills ESSENTIAL to this role.
Compensation: $2/hour on-call and $15/hr after being called into HFBC.
